Dublin Port

Dating back to more than 1000’s of years ago, the Vikings built what is now known as Dublin Port. The port is located at the mouth of the River Liffey and the City of Dublin was built around this, what was, back then, the main mode of transport. As Ireland is a small, yet magnificent country, this main port caters for up to two thirds of the Irish port traffic. Being a docking area for cruise liners, on average, Dublin welcomes 54,000 visitors each year via Cruise ships such as Princess Cruises, P&O Cruises, MSC Cruises and more.

Climate & Getting Around

From mild winters to cool summers, Dublin does not experience an extreme change in the weather all year round. Ireland is known worldwide for its unpredictable weather. At the start of the day the sun could be splitting the stones but by the time you are sitting in Temple Bar having some lunch, the rain could be pouring down from the sky so come prepared. It doesn’t matter what the weather is, the Irish are always in good form.

As the port is located in the heart of the Capital, it is well linked with reliable public transport to all the main attractions Dublin has to offer. It is a compact city with everything in walking distance, but if you wish to venture beyond, there is a fast and efficient transport system to take you there.
