Where can I cruise in February 2027?

February is one of the strongest months on the cruising calendar, with sailings spread across six major regions and departures running from long weekend breaks of 4 nights up to extended voyages of 129 nights. The median sailing is 9 nights — long enough to feel like a proper holiday, short enough to fit around most schedules. The Caribbean dominates by a clear margin, but South East Asia, New Zealand, South America and Japan all have solid programmes worth considering. Here is where the month’s cruising is concentrated, and what each region offers.

Close to home — New Zealand, the Pacific and South East Asia

For travellers based in Australia, February is the height of summer and the peak of local cruising. New Zealand is one of the most popular choices, with sailings departing from Sydney and finishing on the other side of the Tasman — a voyage that suits everyone from first-timers to frequent cruisers. If you live close to a departure port, you board the ship without any flight at all; from another state, it is a short domestic hop to get there, which is still the easiest way to reach a ship. On a one-way itinerary, the voyage connects two cities and a domestic flight links the two ends — we can book that connection for you alongside the cruise itself.

Cruises from Sydney to New Zealand are a natural fit for February, and Princess Cruises’ Australia season puts Crown Princess on some of the most appealing New Zealand and circumnavigation itineraries of the year. The South Pacific also features in February, with island-hopping routes that appeal to families and couples alike.

South East Asia is the other close-to-home highlight. Singapore is one of the most active embarkation ports this month, with sailings fanning out through the region. If you are flying in from Australia to join a cruise, Singapore is straightforward — and we can book the flight, a hotel the night before and any transfers you need as part of a single DreamAway Package.

The long haul — the Caribbean, South America, Japan and China

The Caribbean is where the largest concentration of February sailings sits, and it is easy to see why this is the most popular destination of the month. Miami and Fort Lauderdale are the two main Florida embarkation points — they are about half an hour apart, and it is worth checking both for dates and prices on your preferred itinerary. Port Canaveral is a third Florida option. From the Caribbean hub in San Juan, shorter island-hopping routes fill out the programme alongside the longer round-trip sailings from Florida.

South America is well represented in February, with sailings that reach down through the continent on itineraries ranging from coastal routes to more ambitious voyages. Buenos Aires features as a port of call and embarkation point on a number of these itineraries. If you are flying from Australia to join a South American cruise, we put the flights, the pre-cruise hotel and any onward transfers on the same booking, so there are no loose ends to manage yourself.

Japan is an increasingly popular February destination, with sailings calling at Tokyo and other ports across the country. The itineraries here tend to be longer and more immersive, appealing to experienced cruisers who want to cover serious ground. Cruises to Japan can be combined with pre- or post-cruise hotel stays in Tokyo or elsewhere — again, something we can arrange for you in one booking.

China also features in February’s programme, with Shanghai serving as a key gateway port. Cruises to China in February suit travellers who want to combine a cruise with time exploring on either side — a pattern that our cruise experts help put together routinely.

Which cruise lines sail in February 2027?

February 2027 brings a wide spread of lines and styles. MSC Cruises has the largest volume of sailings this month, followed closely by Royal Caribbean. Carnival Cruise Lines is the third biggest presence, with a strong programme from Australian home ports as well as the Caribbean. Princess Cruises rounds out the major lines with particularly strong Australia and New Zealand coverage. Norwegian Cruise Line and Viking Ocean Cruises complete the picture — Viking in particular suits travellers who prefer a more intimate, destination-focused style of cruising.

Beyond these six, Celebrity Cruises, Oceania Cruises and Holland America Line all have February sailings in the mix, giving you genuine choice at the premium and luxury end of the market.

What are the ships like?

Six ships stand out for February 2027, spanning everything from intimate classic-fleet vessels to large modern ships with resort-scale facilities.

Azura — P&O Cruises

Azura completed a full renewal in 2025 — new restaurants, new bars and refreshed cabins throughout — so the ship you board today feels genuinely current. In the 800-seat Playhouse, the evening entertainment runs to West End-quality aerial acrobatics; once that finishes, the SeaScreen outdoor cinema takes over under the stars. The Glass House wine bar, curated by TV wine expert Olly Smith, offers perfectly matched wine pairings that are hard to replicate on land. It is a ship that does the small things well, which tends to be what guests remember.

Cabin choices on Azura’s decks include:

  • Larger Inside Cabin OB — 15 m², located exclusively on Riviera Deck, with a straightforward layout that makes navigating the ship easy.
  • Sea View Cabin LB — 15 m², with an unobstructed sea view and natural light throughout the day.
  • Superior Deluxe Balcony Cabin DA — 29 m², with a private balcony for open-air sea views that inside and sea-view cabins cannot offer.
  • Penthouse Suite A1 — 69 m², the largest suite on board, with a full separate lounge area and significantly more living space than any other grade.

Crown Princess — Princess Cruises

Crown Princess is the ship that circumnavigates Australia in a single epic voyage, calling at Sydney, Melbourne, Fremantle, Adelaide and Brisbane along the way — an itinerary that very few other ships can match. For February, the ship also sails New Zealand routes that suit couples and families equally well. Children have dedicated clubs — the Treehouse, Lodge and Beach House — while parents who want genuine peace and quiet can retreat to The Sanctuary, an adults-only deck space. Dining and service have a relaxed, personal feel that resonates with those who have sailed Australian waters before.

Cabin grades on Crown Princess run as follows:

  • Inside cabin IA — 15.1 m², on middle decks with central access to lifts and onboard facilities, sleeping up to 4.
  • Sea-view cabin OB — 16.6 m², with a panoramic window and unobstructed sea views, sleeping up to 4.
  • Premium Balcony cabin B1 — 25.2 m², with a private outdoor area including table and chairs, sleeping up to 4.
  • Owner’s Suite S2 — 63.8 m², the most spacious suite on board, sleeping up to 4, with significantly more room than any other grade.

MSC Fantasia — MSC Cruises

MSC Fantasia set the template for MSC’s Italian design language when it launched in 2008, and the crystal staircase at its heart still stops guests mid-stride. Five pools, waterslides, a 4D cinema and an F1 simulator give families and solo travellers plenty to occupy themselves without ever competing for the same space. For those who want to step up entirely, the MSC Yacht Club transforms the experience into something private: your own pool, restaurant and butler service, all contained within the larger ship. Fantasia proves that size and intimacy are not mutually exclusive.

Cabin grades on MSC Fantasia:

  • Deluxe Inside Cabin Fantastica — 17 m², sleeping up to 4, with Fantastica comfort included.
  • Premium Ocean View Fantastica — 18 m², on deck 5 in a quiet midship position, sleeping up to 4.
  • Balcony Aurea — 19 m², on upper decks with shorter routes to pool and bar areas, sleeping up to 4.
  • Grand Suite Aurea — 38 m², one of the most spacious suites on board with a large wardrobe, sleeping up to 4.
  • MSC Yacht Club Executive & Family Suite with Balcony — 36 m², with your own balcony for private moments at sea.

MSC Opera — MSC Cruises

MSC Opera is a smaller ship by modern standards, and that size is genuinely an asset. It can dock in village-scale ports where the big megaships do not go, which means you see a different side of the itinerary — quieter quaysides rather than the crowded tender queues that larger ships create. On board, evenings offer a real choice of mood: a jazz bar channelling the Cotton Club, a proper disco, or a theatre show. Families are well served too, with LEGO zones, VR gaming and age-specific clubs that keep children genuinely occupied so parents can relax. See the MSC Opera cabins and deck plans for the full range of grades.

MSC Sinfonia — MSC Cruises

Sinfonia is another Lirica-class ship that punches above its size — a top-deck water park, an enlarged Aurea Spa and 94 balcony cabins packed into a compact frame. The size again works in your favour on port-intensive itineraries: Sinfonia slips into intimate harbours that larger ships simply cannot reach. Evenings bring Broadway-style shows, and children’s zones run in parallel so adults and younger guests finish the day on their own terms. Full details are on the MSC Sinfonia cabins and deck plans page.

MSC Meraviglia — MSC Cruises

MSC Meraviglia is the opposite of intimate — and deliberately so. The Galleria, an indoor promenade running the length of a city block beneath a 96-metre LED sky, means the evening starts the moment you step outside your cabin. The entertainment programme includes shows built exclusively for this class of ship by Carousel Productions — productions you will not find on any other vessel. For days at sea, there is an aquapark, bowling, F1 simulators and the Yacht Club’s exclusive retreat. There is genuinely something different to do every day. Check the MSC Meraviglia cabins and deck plans to find the grade that suits you.

What do Royal Caribbean and Norwegian fare tiers include?

Royal Caribbean offers several fare types across its February sailings. The standard Cruise Fare is the entry point, and fare types such as Last-Minute fares and promotional offers are available on select sailings — worth checking if your dates are flexible. A Solo/Single Fare covers guests travelling in single occupancy. Our cruise experts can explain which fare applies to your specific sailing and whether any current offers stack with it.

Norwegian Cruise Line takes a different approach. The base Brochure fare covers the cruise itself with no packages added. The Free at Sea bundle (NCLATSEA) adds a Premium Beverage Package, a Speciality Dining Package, Wi-Fi and shore excursion credits for guests 1 and 2. The Free at Sea Plus tier (NCLATSEAPLUS) extends the dining package to every guest on the reservation, with the number of speciality dining meals scaling with voyage length. If you want drinks, dining and Wi-Fi sorted before you board, Free at Sea or Free at Sea Plus is typically where the value sits.

Princess Cruises structures its fares around the Princess Standard and Princess Plus tiers. Standard covers the cruise itself; Princess Plus adds 4 casual dining meals per voyage, beverages up to A$15 per drink (up to 15 per day), MedallionNet Max Wi-Fi, pre-paid crew appreciation, unlimited digital photos plus 3 prints, and reserved theatre seating. For most travellers who plan to drink, dine and stay connected, the Plus fare works out well compared with adding those items separately.

Are February cruises good value?

February tends to be a competitive time for pricing, with a good spread of reduced fares available across the month. Discounts of up to 48% from the previously listed cabin-grade price are available on a small number of departures, though that headline figure applies to very few sailings — on most reduced departures the saving is closer to 13%. The point is that genuine reductions are out there, particularly on sailings with more flexible dates, and our cruise experts know where to look.

If you are weighing up cost, it is also worth factoring in what the fare includes. A Norwegian Free at Sea fare that covers drinks, dining and Wi-Fi for two people competes differently with a bare base fare than the headline price suggests. Our team can compare the real cost of each fare tier against your planned spend on board, so you are choosing on a like-for-like basis. Our cheap cruises page is a good starting point if price is the primary filter.

Is February a good month for families?

February falls across the Australian school summer holidays, which makes it one of the most family-oriented months on the cruising calendar for travellers departing from Australia. Several of the ships sailing this month are particularly well set up for mixed-age groups. Crown Princess runs dedicated kids’ clubs — the Treehouse, Lodge and Beach House — while adults have The Sanctuary as a genuine retreat. MSC Fantasia’s F1 simulator, 4D cinema and waterslides give older children and teenagers plenty to do independently. MSC Opera and MSC Sinfonia both run age-specific clubs that keep younger guests engaged while parents enjoy the ship on their own terms.

For families flying to join a Caribbean sailing, we can put the flights, a hotel near the embarkation port and the transfers all on one booking — so you arrive at the ship without having juggled three separate reservations. Cruises around Australia in 2027 are another strong family option for February, with departures that may not require any flight at all if you live near a home port.

Should I book February cruises early?

February is one of the most popular months, particularly for Caribbean sailings and for itineraries departing from Australian home ports during the summer school holidays. The best cabin grades and the most competitive fares tend to go first on the highest-demand sailings, so booking ahead gives you more choice rather than a worse deal. That said, last-minute fares do appear closer to departure on sailings with remaining availability — Royal Caribbean’s Last-Minute fare tier is one example — and if your dates are genuinely flexible, checking closer to February can occasionally surface a strong price.

The practical answer is: if you have a specific ship, cabin grade or sailing date in mind, book it when you find a price you are happy with. Our cruise experts can advise whether a particular sailing is selling quickly or whether there is reason to wait. We also hold your booking under our Best Price Guarantee, so if the price drops after you book, we will apply the lower fare.

Are luxury cruises available in February?

Viking Ocean Cruises offers some of the most refined sailings available in February, with an itinerary-first approach, smaller ships and a consistently high standard of service and inclusions. Oceania Cruises and EXPLORA II are also represented this month — EXPLORA II is a contemporary luxury ship built for a more experiential style of ocean travel; see the EXPLORA II cabins and deck plans for the full suite range.

At the premium end of the mainstream lines, the MSC Yacht Club aboard MSC Fantasia and MSC Meraviglia functions as a ship-within-a-ship: a private pool, dedicated restaurant and butler service that gives you a luxury experience without sailing a smaller ship. MSC Preziosa is another option worth considering; check the MSC Preziosa cabins and deck plans for available grades. For Princess Cruises travellers, the Owner’s Suite on Crown Princess — at 63.8 m² — is the most spacious grade on board and suits those who want space and privacy without switching to a specialist luxury line. Star Princess is another Princess ship sailing in February; see the Star Princess cabins and deck plans for what is available.

Make it a holiday

For the vast majority of February departures, the cruise is the centrepiece of a longer trip that starts at an airport. Our team puts flights, hotels, tours, transfers and insurance around the cruise as a single booking — a DreamAway Package — so you are not piecing together three or four separate reservations and hoping they align. If you are flying to Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Singapore or Tokyo to join a ship, we handle every component from your home city to the gangway and back again.

For the smaller share of sailings that depart from Australian home ports such as Sydney or Brisbane, the picture is different. If you live close to the port, there is no flight involved at all — you drive, catch a train or take a transfer straight to the ship. From another Australian city, a short domestic flight connects you to the departure port, and we can book that connection alongside the cruise itself. Either way, the whole trip sits on one booking.

We are ATAS-accredited cruise specialists, and every booking is backed by our Best Price Guarantee. If you find a lower price for the same sailing and cabin grade elsewhere, we will match it. Our cruise experts are available to help you compare cabin grades, weigh up fare inclusions and decide whether a DreamAway Package adds value for your specific itinerary — that kind of advice is what makes booking with a specialist different from booking direct.

Explore other cruise months and departure options

February sits in the heart of the Australian summer cruising season. If your dates are flexible, it is worth browsing the months either side. Cruises from Sydney in January 2027 and cruises from Brisbane in January 2027 are a natural alternative if you want to sail a few weeks earlier. Heading the other way, cruises from Sydney in March 2027 and cruises from Brisbane in March 2027 extend the summer season into autumn.

Within February itself, Sydney departures have their own dedicated page: cruises from Sydney in February 2027 gives you the full range of sailings leaving from that port specifically. If you are already thinking ahead to next year, cruises from Sydney in February 2028 are already bookable on selected sailings.

For Australian itineraries year-round, the cruise around Australia 2027 page covers the full season, and Australia cruises is the broader starting point. The Princess Cruises Australia 2027 summer season and the Princess Cruises Australia 2028 summer season are worth bookmarking if Princess is your preferred line. For the wider view of what is available across summer cruises generally, that hub covers all lines and regions together.

If you are drawn to a particular region rather than a month, New Zealand cruises, cruises from Sydney to New Zealand, South Pacific cruises and cruises to Japan each have their own dedicated pages. For the broadest view of what is available across all departure dates, our main cruises page is the place to start — or visit Australian cruises for the full programme departing from and around this region. The Cunard 2027–2028 world cruise season is also worth a look if you are considering an extended voyage. For Norwegian Cruise Line options in the neighbouring month, Norwegian January sailings round out the picture.

Christmas sailings from Sydney are another popular option to have on your radar — the Christmas cruises from Sydney 2026 page covers those if you are planning further ahead. And for the March sailings that follow February, the March cruises hub has the full programme.

*Prices are per person based on 2 people sharing, and are subject to change. This price is not kept up to date and therefore does not reflect live pricing and availability. Prices and any discounts shown were checked on 14 October 2026.

Where a discount is shown, it is a reduction from the price previously listed for that cabin grade on that sailing, not a comparison between cabin grades or against a brochure rate. Discounts and prices shown are not kept up to date: the reduction available now may be smaller, or may have ended, and prices may have changed.
