Where does Princess Cruises go in summer 2027?

Princess Cruises’ 2027 summer season spans late 2026 departures through to September 2027, covering an unusually wide spread of the world. The Caribbean leads the programme, followed by Australia, Alaska and West Canada, transpacific crossings, Hawaii, the South Pacific, Central America, Japan and the USA West Coast. Voyages run from short breaks of a few nights up to extended voyages of 79 nights, with a median of 12 nights — long enough to genuinely settle into a destination. Around a third of sailings are round-trip; just over a third are one-way repositioning or sector voyages, so it is worth checking the embarkation and disembarkation port before you book.

Which regions sail in this season?

Close to home — Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific

For Australians, the most straightforward sailings are those that depart from Sydney or Brisbane — no international flight required if you are local to either city, or a short domestic hop if you are not. Princess Cruises’ Australia programme for 2026 and 2027 is one of the broadest it has offered, with departures from both ports calling at coastal destinations, crossing to New Zealand and heading out into the South Pacific.

The cruise-around-Australia options in 2027 are a highlight for anyone who wants to see the continent from the water. Crown Princess is well suited to this — her circumnavigation itinerary calls at Sydney, Melbourne, Fremantle, Adelaide and Brisbane in a single voyage. She is a relaxed, unhurried ship: easy dining, live entertainment and service that Australian travellers consistently say feels genuinely personal. Families travelling together will find the youth clubs — the Treehouse, Lodge and Beach House — keep children occupied while the adults claim a sun lounger on The Sanctuary’s private deck.

If you are travelling from Brisbane specifically in 2027, there are departures through the season. Cruises from Brisbane in January 2027 are among the earlier options, and the programme runs through into the second half of the year. For Sydney, there are options ranging from domestic coastal runs to longer Sydney-to-New-Zealand voyages in 2027 and even Sydney-to-Hawaii sailings in 2027 for those ready for a longer crossing. On one-way voyages between Australian cities, a domestic flight connects the two ends — we can add that to your booking along with any hotels you need either side.

The long haul — Caribbean, Alaska, transpacific and more

The Caribbean is the biggest part of this season’s programme, with departures from San Juan, Puerto Rico and Bridgetown, Barbados featuring prominently. These are fly-cruise holidays for Australians, and we build the whole trip — return flights from your nearest Australian city, pre-cruise hotel nights if you need them, transfers to the pier and any tours you want to add — as a single DreamAway Package. Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades) and Miami are roughly half an hour apart if you are flexible about your Florida gateway, so it is worth checking both when the Caribbean is the destination; the Fort Lauderdale departures page shows what is sailing from there.

Alaska in 2027 is the other major long-haul draw, with sailings operating round Vancouver, Canada and Los Angeles. The Alaska programme from Vancouver in 2027 is particularly strong for anyone combining the cruise with a few nights in British Columbia. Transpacific crossings connect Australia to the Americas — these are long voyages by design, and they suit travellers who want the ocean passage to be part of the experience rather than something to endure. There are also sailings touching Japan in 2027 and a small number of Central America itineraries rounding out the programme.

Which ships sail for Princess Cruises in summer 2027?

Several ships from the Princess Cruises fleet operate across these seasons and regions. Here is what is distinctive about each one.

Sun Princess — the newest ship in the fleet

Sun Princess entered service in 2024 as the largest and most innovative ship Princess has ever launched, and she makes a genuine impression from the moment you board. The Dome is a multi-use space that works as a Santorini-inspired pool deck during the day and shifts into a South Beach-style entertainment venue after dark — the same deck, two completely different atmospheres. With 29 dining options and 5 pools across the ship, there is always somewhere new to try. For cabin options on Sun Princess, see Sun Princess cabins and deck plans:

  • Inside cabin IA — 13.5 m², sleeps up to 4. Compact and full-featured; excellent value if the cabin is mainly for sleeping.
  • Premium Sea-view cabin O2 — 19.7 m², sleeps up to 4. Panoramic window with an unobstructed sea view and natural daylight.
  • Deluxe Balcony cabin DF, spacious — 27.4 m², sleeps up to 4. Private balcony for breakfast or sundowners with a sea view.
  • Sky suite S0 — 117.2 m², sleeps up to 4. Two full bedrooms and two bathrooms, one with a bathtub and separate shower.

Sapphire Princess — refreshed and sailing from Australia

Fresh from a 2025 refit, Sapphire Princess has new restaurants, revitalised cabins and a modern Lotus Spa. She sails from Fremantle in the 2027–28 season, which means Western Australians can join without a cross-country journey. The adults-only Sanctuary pool deck offers private cabanas, cold towels and serenity stewards — the kind of quiet that is genuinely hard to find on a large ship. Check Sapphire Princess cabins and deck plans for the full layout:

  • Inside cabin IA — 15.6 m², sleeps up to 4. Mid-deck position with central lift access and good stability.
  • Premium Sea-view cabin O5 — 18.3 m², sleeps up to 4. Panoramic window with a bow view and natural daylight.
  • Balcony cabin B2 — 25.7 m², sleeps up to 4. Private balcony with direct access to fresh sea air.
  • Grand Suite S1 — 123.5 m², sleeps up to 4. The largest suite aboard, with a separate living room and dining area.

Regal Princess — for Caribbean and long-haul voyages

Regal Princess carries the classic Princess hallmarks that regular cruisers know well: Movies Under the Stars on deck, The Sanctuary adults-only retreat, and a dining spread that runs from the Crown Grill on a special occasion to the International Café at any hour of the day or night. For cabin choices on Regal Princess, visit the Regal Princess cabins and deck plans page:

  • Inside cabin IA — 15.4 m², sleeps up to 4. Available across decks 9 to 14 for flexibility in deck position.
  • Ocean-view cabin O6 — 20.9 m², sleeps up to 4. Noticeably more spacious than a standard inside cabin.
  • Deluxe Balcony cabin D4, aft location — approximately 22.5–29 m², sleeps up to 4. The most spacious deluxe balcony option on the ship.
  • Penthouse Suite S3 — approximately 54.5–63.4 m², sleeps up to 4. Considerably larger than the mini-suite category.

Diamond Princess — Asia specialist

Diamond Princess is the ship to choose if Japan is on the list. Her Izumi bathhouse is a traditional Japanese onsen at sea — a genuinely relaxing ritual that sets her apart from the rest of the fleet. Japan, Vietnam and Singapore packages include return flights, making Asia accessible from Australia without having to piece the trip together yourself. The Princess Theatre runs Broadway-style productions nightly, and Skywalkers Nightclub sits 15 decks above the ocean for something livelier after dinner. Diamond Princess cabins and deck plans are available on her ship page.

Crown Princess — for Australian coastal and circumnavigation voyages

As noted above, Crown Princess is the ship for anyone wanting to see Australia in one grand sweep. Her circumnavigation itinerary takes in the major Australian port cities in a single voyage. The youth clubs — Treehouse, Lodge and Beach House — cater to different age groups, so families can spread out across the ship while still meeting up for meals. Visit the Crown Princess cabins and deck plans page to compare options.

Grand Princess — Great Barrier Reef voyages

Grand Princess brings a relaxed, familiar Princess experience to Great Barrier Reef itineraries. Order food and drinks anywhere on the ship through the Princess app — cocktails by the pool, pizza in your cabin — without queuing at a bar. The Sanctuary’s adults-only top-deck retreat offers sun loungers, light meals and open-ocean views above the Coral Sea. See Grand Princess cabins and deck plans for a full cabin breakdown.

What fare options does Princess Cruises offer?

Princess Cruises offers 2 main fare tiers across this season’s sailings, and knowing what each covers before you book saves time at the payment screen.

Princess Standard is the base cruise fare. It covers the sailing itself — your cabin, main dining and onboard entertainment. The Princess Plus and Princess Premier packages are available to add, but are not included. This is the right choice if you prefer to pay for drinks and Wi-Fi as you go, or if you are booking a short sailing and unlikely to reach the included-drink daily limits.

Princess Plus is the mid-tier package and offers genuine daily value for most travellers. It includes 4 casual dining meals per voyage, beverages up to A$15 each (with a daily limit of 15 drinks), MedallionNet Max Wi-Fi, pre-paid crew appreciation, unlimited digital photographs plus 3 prints, and reserved theatre seating. If you plan to have a couple of drinks a day and use the Wi-Fi, this tier typically pays for itself quickly.

Our cruise experts can walk you through which fare tier suits your itinerary and travel style — call us before you book if you are unsure, especially on longer voyages where the inclusions add up.

Are there any discounts available?

Some sailings across this season carry a reduction from the price previously listed for that cabin grade on that sailing. The maximum reduction reaches up to 29% on individual departures, though that applies to a small number of sailings; most reduced fares are around 7% off. Fare types such as early-saver offers, last-minute deals and promotional packages appear across the season — our cruise experts can tell you what is current when you call. The summer cruises programme more broadly also carries offers worth checking if your dates are flexible.

Can I book just the cruise, or do I need a package?

You can book the cruise on its own, and for the Australian departures from Sydney or Brisbane, that is sometimes all you need — particularly if you live nearby or can make a short domestic hop. Around a third of sailings on this season’s programme depart from Australian ports, so the airport is optional for a meaningful share of travellers.

For the Caribbean, Alaska, transpacific and other international sailings — which make up the larger share of the programme — you will need flights from Australia, and that is where a DreamAway Package earns its place. We build the whole trip: return flights, pre- and post-cruise hotel nights, transfers to and from the pier, and any tours you want to add, all on one booking. It is simpler than booking each piece separately, and our cruise experts make sure the connections work before you pay. If you are flying into Fort Lauderdale for a Caribbean sailing, for instance, we handle the logistics end to end.

Explore more 2027 sailings

If you are still deciding on the region or the departure date, there is a lot more on offer across all 2027 cruises. The Princess 2027–2028 season launch gives a broader view of what the fleet is doing beyond the summer window. Travellers with the Australian coast in mind will find Australia cruises in April 2027 worth exploring, and the Singapore-to-Australia sailing in 2027 suits anyone wanting to combine a Southeast Asia stay with the cruise itself. For the Pacific and New Zealand direction, departures from Auckland in 2027 are another option, and the Christmas cruises from Sydney at the end of 2026 mark the start of this sailing window if you want to be at sea for the holidays.

Planning a Christmas sailing from Brisbane? See our Christmas cruises from Brisbane page for what is available there. Fans of longer voyages may also want to look at the Cunard 2027–2028 world cruise season launch for a comparison of extended sailing options. And for departures earlier in the season, Sydney departures in December 2026 and Sydney departures in January 2027 are both covered in detail.

If other lines and regions interest you, Asia cruises in 2027 are worth a look, and departures from Singapore in 2027 connect well with Princess’s transpacific programme. The full range of what is available across all lines and regions is on our cruises page — a good starting point if you are still comparing options.
