What Silver Endeavour is

Silver Endeavour is built to reach the places that larger ships cannot. At 20,649 gross tonnes with 220 guests aboard — and a crew of 207 — the ratio of staff to guests is exceptionally close, and that intimacy shapes everything from service at dinner to briefings before a polar landing. She launched in 2021, spreading her 110 suites across eight decks, and every cabin on board is a balcony suite: there are nine grades in all, running from generous balcony accommodation through to more expansive suite configurations. The Silver Endeavour cabins and deck plans page shows every grade and its position on the ship.

What makes her unusual within the Silversea Cruises fleet is the combination of expedition-ready hardware and a dining and wellness programme that would not look out of place on a large ocean liner. She is the sole ship in Silversea’s Endeavour Class.

Dining on Silver Endeavour

The dining programme is built around Silversea’s S.A.L.T. (Sea and Land Taste) concept, which ties what guests eat to where the ship is sailing. S.A.L.T. Kitchen changes its menu destination by destination, drawing on locally sourced ingredients and over 160 regional wines — included in the fare. The intimate S.A.L.T. Chef’s Table takes that idea further: eleven successive courses in a single seating each evening, with wine and cocktail pairing, presented as culinary theatre (a surcharge applies and reservations are taken on board). S.A.L.T. Bar continues the theme in drink form, with cocktails built from local spirits and ingredients, while S.A.L.T. Lab offers hands-on cooking classes in a professional teaching kitchen at no extra charge.

Beyond the S.A.L.T. venues, Atlantide serves refined global cuisine across breakfast, lunch and dinner; La Terrazza opens as a casual buffet by day and an Italian trattoria in the evening (evening dining carries an additional charge). La Dame offers French haute cuisine on a tasting-menu format with a per-person reservation fee, while Kaiseki takes the Japanese philosophy of harmony to the plate — sushi and izakaya dishes by day, wagyu teriyaki and miso halibut by night, with sake and Japanese whisky tastings included in the reservation charge. For something more relaxed, The Grill and The Marquee provide poolside and open-air dining respectively, both à la carte, and Spaccanapoli turns out authentic Neapolitan pizza from a custom oven. Silver Note combines live jazz with international small plates in a supper-club setting.

Bars, wellness and life on board

The social spaces fan out from the Atrium on Deck 4 — the ship’s central hub, framed by windows across two decks. The Dolce Vita bar, with its daily piano music, functions as the gathering point before dinner; The Shelter is the more intimate cocktail lounge off the atrium; and the Panorama Lounge moves between gentle piano sets and livelier evening entertainment. The Observation Lounge, at the ship’s highest point, doubles as a library and quiet retreat — especially rewarding when the ship is threading through a fjord or approaching a polar coastline. For cigars, Connoisseur’s Corner offers Cohibas, Bolívars and fine Havanas in a terrace setting, and Arts Café is the spot for a quiet coffee between deck activities.

The Pool Deck across Decks 10 and 11 is anchored by what Silversea describes as the fleet’s largest pool, with 270-degree ocean views unobstructed by railings. The standout feature is The Cliff Whirlpool — an infinity-edge, glass-fronted spa tub that appears to spill into the horizon. Wellness is handled by the Otium Spa, where entry is included and individual treatments — massages, facials, sauna and steam — are charged separately. Entertainment centres on the Venetian Lounge, a cabaret-style auditorium for productions and film screenings.

Silversea fares on Silver Endeavour

Silversea structures its pricing around a set of all-inclusive fare tiers, each bundling a different level of inclusions.

  • All-Inclusive Fare — butler-serviced suites, refined dining, unlimited wines and spirits throughout the voyage, onboard gratuities and Wi-Fi. Shore excursions are not part of this tier.
  • All-Inclusive Fare Combined Voyages — the same core inclusions as above, covering back-to-back sailings booked as a single voyage.
  • All-Inclusive Plus Fare — adds a shore excursion credit on classic voyages; on Expedition sailings (which Silver Endeavour operates), all landings and excursions are included.
  • All-Inclusive Plus Fare – Grand Voyages — the Plus tier extended to longer sailings, with the same expedition landing inclusions where applicable.
  • All-Inclusive Plus Fare World Cruises — the Plus tier for world cruise itineraries, adding a fully refundable deposit for booking flexibility.
  • Essential Fare — a straightforward rate geared to bookings made closer to departure, without the additional perks of the Plus tiers.

The right tier depends on how much is included versus how much flexibility you want. CruiseAway’s cruise experts know these fares in detail and can help match the tier to your plans.

Where Silver Endeavour sails

Silver Endeavour’s programme is built around expedition regions: Norway from Longyearbyen and Tromsø, the Arctic Ocean and Antarctic Ocean, the British Isles from Lisbon, transatlantic crossings from Reykjavik, and positioning voyages that thread through West Africa and the Atlantic islands. Because every sailing departs from ports in Norway, Antarctica, Iceland, Chile and elsewhere, the cruise is naturally the centrepiece of a longer trip — CruiseAway books the flights, hotels either side and transfers as one complete holiday.

Norway (Svalbard), June–July: The largest part of her programme runs in the high Arctic summer. Nine-night one-way sailings connect Tromsø and Longyearbyen, calling at Svalbard, Skarsvåg, North Cape Passage and Bear Island. Shorter seven-night round-trips from Longyearbyen explore Svalbard itself. These are the most popular sailings on her calendar, running from June through July.

Antarctica, November: Six-night round-trips from King George Island visit the Antarctic Sound and the South Shetland Islands — the Southern Ocean programme runs in November, the beginning of the Antarctic summer. See all expedition and adventure sailings on Silver Endeavour.

Arctic Ocean (East Greenland), August: Ten-night round-trips from Reykjavik reach Scoresbysund, Kong Oscar Fjord, Ittoqqortoormiit and the Fjord of the Emperor Franz Joseph — some of the most dramatic coastal scenery in the northern hemisphere — before returning via Ísafjörður and Dynjandi in Iceland’s Westfjords. These run in August.

British Isles, April–May: Twelve-night one-way voyages depart Lisbon and finish in Dublin or Leith (Edinburgh), calling at the Isles of Scilly, Iona, Lunga, St. Kilda, the Shiant Isles and Loch Ewe. These sailings run in April and May and are well-suited to anyone who wants to combine a Lisbon city stay with a voyage around the outer reaches of the British coast — browse ocean cruises to Europe from Australia or check discounted Europe cruise deals. The British Isles & Ireland sailings page shows the full selection.

Transatlantic (Greenland & Labrador), August–September: Fifteen and eighteen-night one-way crossings depart Reykjavik and finish at Cape Liberty (Bayonne, New Jersey) or Montreal, calling at Prince Christian Sound, Hopedale, Lindenov Fjord, Qaqortoq, Hvalsey and Battle Harbour in Newfoundland and Labrador. These are among the longest itineraries Silver Endeavour operates. See all transatlantic sailings.

West Africa to Portugal, April: Fourteen-night one-way voyages depart Dakar and arrive in Lisbon, calling at the Cape Verde islands, the Canary Islands, Madeira and Safi — a rare Atlantic island-hopping route with an African starting point.

Who Silver Endeavour suits

Guests who want to combine genuine expedition access — polar landings, remote fjords, uninhabited island groups — with the full comfort of a luxury all-inclusive ship find Silver Endeavour a natural fit. The Otium Spa and the Spaccanapoli pizzeria sit alongside the same ship that lands guests on the Antarctic Peninsula: the two aspects of the experience are not in tension, they are the point. Travellers drawn to longer voyages — the 15 to 21-night transatlantic crossings from Reykjavik, for instance — also find the breadth of the on-board programme well matched to the duration.

The Silversea fleet

Silversea operates eleven ships, grouped into five classes. Silver Endeavour is the sole Endeavour Class ship. The other classes are:

Classic Class — Silver Shadow, Silver Whisper, Silver Cloud and Silver Wind.

Muse Class — Silver Muse, Silver Moon and Silver Dawn.

Nova Class — Silver Nova and Silver Ray.

Origin Class — Silver Origin.

The full fleet and what sailing with the line is like is covered on the Silversea Cruises page. For all Silversea sailings available from Australia, see Silversea cruises from Australia.

Booking Silver Endeavour with CruiseAway

CruiseAway offers a Best Price Guarantee across its Silversea range, and our cruise experts know these fares, fare tiers and expedition programmes in detail — they can match the right tier to your dates and advise on cabin grade. Because Silver Endeavour’s sailings depart from Norway, Iceland, Antarctica, Chile and other destinations Australian travellers need to fly to, we build the whole trip through our DreamAway Packages — flights, hotels either side, transfers and the cruise itself, on one booking.

For expedition sailings specifically, see the expedition and adventure page. For solo travellers, singles and solo cruises lists Silver Endeavour sailings filtered to that purpose. If you are considering a longer journey, the world cruises 2027 page and world cruises from Australia are worth exploring alongside Silver Endeavour’s transatlantic and polar programmes.

Questions about sailing on Silver Endeavour

Are all cabins suites with a balcony?

Yes. Every one of Silver Endeavour’s 110 cabins is a balcony suite — there are nine grades in all, from the entry balcony level through to the most expansive configurations. Grade-by-grade dimensions, layouts and deck positions are all on the Silver Endeavour cabins and deck plans page.

What is included in the fare?

All of Silversea’s Silver Endeavour fares are all-inclusive at some level. The core All-Inclusive Fare covers butler-serviced suites, dining across the included restaurants, unlimited wines and spirits, onboard gratuities and Wi-Fi. The All-Inclusive Plus Fare extends this — on Expedition sailings, that means all polar landings and shore excursions are bundled in. The Essential Fare is a simpler last-minute rate. CruiseAway’s experts can walk through which tier fits your itinerary.

Do some of the restaurants carry a surcharge?

Several specialty restaurants carry a per-person reservation charge: S.A.L.T. Chef’s Table, La Dame, and Kaiseki each have a supplement (the amounts are set by Silversea and payable on board). The S.A.L.T. Kitchen, Atlantide, La Terrazza (at breakfast and lunch), and several other venues are included in the fare. Some venues — The Grill, The Marquee at certain meals, Spaccanapoli — price their dishes à la carte.

How physical are the expedition landings?

That depends on the specific itinerary and the conditions on the day. Silversea’s expedition team briefs guests before each landing and offers options suited to different levels of mobility. The ship carries the equipment needed for Zodiac landings in polar environments. For specifics on a sailing you are considering, CruiseAway’s cruise experts can advise on what to expect from each programme.

Can I book Silver Endeavour as part of a wider trip through Australia?

Yes. Because her sailings depart from ports across Europe, the sub-Arctic and the Southern Ocean, most Australian guests will fly in and out rather than joining from home. CruiseAway puts the flights, hotels and transfers together with the cruise fare on a single booking — speak to a cruise expert about shaping the full itinerary around whichever sailing appeals.
