Viking Geb is a purpose-built Nile river ship from Viking River Cruises, due to launch in 2027. Carrying just 82 guests attended by 48 crew across 41 cabins, she is designed around an exceptionally high crew-to-guest ratio and an atmosphere that feels closer to a private yacht than a large cruise vessel. Sailings depart from Luxor, Egypt, along the Nile River.
The Restaurant is Viking Geb's main dining room, included in your cruise fare, where floor-to-ceiling windows wrap the room in river views and the menu moves between regional specialities and timeless classics.
For something more casual, the World Café on Deck 7 Aft keeps open kitchens running with live cooking stations, international dishes, and premium sushi and seafood options — step outside and the Aquavit Terrace® puts the Nile directly beside your plate. On Deck 7 Midship, the Wintergarden serves complimentary afternoon tea with finger sandwiches, fresh scones, pastries and classical music from the onboard musician. The Pool Grill on Deck 7 rounds out the included options with casual poolside plates and a salad bar.
Specialist dining is available too. Manfredi's Italian Restaurant® recreates a genuine trattoria atmosphere with à la carte Italian cooking and a private dining room option — a cover charge applies. The Chef's Table offers a multi-course tasting menu with sommelier-paired wines, by reservation. The Kitchen Table takes a more hands-on approach, bringing local Nile-region ingredients and cooking techniques into an interactive culinary experience on Deck 1 Aft. Norwegian comfort food is on offer at Mamsen's®, tucked inside the Explorers' Lounge on Deck 7 at no extra cost.
The Living Room sits at the heart of the ship — a generous, unhurried lounge where Viking's Resident Musicians perform live classical music and curated activities fill the day. Entry is free; beverages carry a separate charge unless covered by your package. Adjacent is the Bar, styled after an ancient Nordic longship inside the Living Room atrium — a striking setting for a drink.
Torshavn® channels the golden age of jazz lounges, with live music and premium cocktails in an intimate atmosphere (beverages charged separately). The Explorers' Lounge rises across two storeys of panoramic windows, framing the Nile as it passes — an ideal place to watch the river unfold over a drink. The central Atrium is where guests naturally gather, a bright and open meeting point with cocktails available at an additional charge.
Viking Geb carries two pools: a heated main pool with a retractable roof, which allows for swimming in any weather and doubles as an open-air cinema in the evening, and an Infinity Pool — one of the first of its kind at sea — where floor-to-ceiling windows dissolve the boundary between the water and the river beyond. A hot tub is also part of the infinity pool area, and the adjacent Aquavit Terrace® is open for evening dining.
The Nordic Spa is open to all guests at no charge for access — individual treatments and classes carry a separate fee. A sauna and snow grotto are part of the wellness offering. The Fitness Centre is complimentary to use, with treadmills, elliptical machines, exercise bikes and open floor space for yoga and pilates (some classes may be charged separately). The Sports Deck adds a running track, boccie, mini golf and shuffleboard above deck — guided yoga sessions there carry a charge, though the deck itself is free to use. The Hair Salon rounds out the onboard services, with styling and the Royal Nordic Hair Ritual available at a charge.
The Theater accommodates up to 450 seats and hosts lectures, films and TED Talks on a large screen; the space can be divided into two HD cinemas depending on the programme. All of this is included in your fare — you can move freely between documentary screenings, destination talks and cultural presentations at no extra cost.
Viking Geb offers two confirmed cabin grades, and the full layout is detailed on the Viking Geb cabins and deck plans page.
The Veranda Stateroom A at 22.2 m² is designed for two guests and comes with a private veranda and river views — your own outdoor space without the premium cost of the suites above it. For those who want the most generous quarters on board, the Explorer Suite ES offers 48.8 m² of space for two, with separate sitting and sleeping areas that make long days on the Nile genuinely comfortable. Both grades sleep two.
Every sailing aboard Viking Geb departs from Luxor, Egypt — which means flying to get there. Our cruise experts know these sailings well, and because the Nile cruise itself is the highlight of a longer trip, CruiseAway's DreamAway Packages let us combine the cruise with your international flights, pre- or post-cruise hotels in Egypt, and all your transfers into a single booking. You deal with one team, one itinerary and one confirmation. We also back every booking with our Best Price Guarantee, so if you find the same fare cheaper elsewhere, we'll match it.
Viking Geb is scheduled to launch in 2027. Sailings currently on sale with CruiseAway depart from September 2026 onwards, so it is worth enquiring with our cruise experts about availability as soon as the itinerary you want opens up.
Viking Geb sails the Nile River, with sailings departing from Luxor in Egypt. Itineraries currently available run for up to 7 nights.
If having your own outdoor space and river views matters to you but you'd prefer to keep costs in check, the Veranda Stateroom A at 22.2 m² is a strong choice. If you want the most space the ship offers — 48.8 m² with a proper sitting area — the Explorer Suite ES is the grade to ask about. Our cruise experts can walk you through what's included at each grade and which fares are currently available.
You don't have to — this is exactly what CruiseAway's DreamAway Packages are built for. We can combine your Nile cruise with flights from Australia, hotels in Egypt either side of the sailing, and all transfers, so the whole trip is handled in one booking.
