Viking Haki at a glance

Viking Haki is a river ship built in 2026 for Viking River Cruises, sailing the waterways of Europe with 95 cabins and space for 190 guests looked after by a crew of 53. She sails itineraries of up to 16 nights, departing from Amsterdam, Basel and Budapest, across the Rhine and Danube river systems and into Western Europe.

  • Primary rivers: Rhine and Danube
  • Departure ports: Amsterdam, Basel, Budapest

Dining on Viking Haki

The main dining venue, The Restaurant, is included in your fare and serves regional specialities and classic dishes with floor-to-ceiling windows framing the river as you eat. For something more casual, the World Café runs open kitchens with live cooking and a choice of international dishes, premium sushi and seafood, with indoor seating that spills out onto the Aquavit Terrace® — an open-air dining space directly above the water.

The Pool Grill on Deck 7 keeps things relaxed with freshly prepared dishes and a salad bar, all included in your fare, while the Wintergarden midship hosts complimentary afternoon tea with finger sandwiches, scones, pastries and live classical music. Mamsen's®, set within the Explorers' Lounge on Deck 7, serves Norwegian specialities from breakfast through to dinner at no extra charge.

Two speciality venues carry additional costs. Manfredi's Italian Restaurant® serves authentic Italian cuisine à la carte, with a private dining room available for groups. The Chef's Table offers a multi-course tasting menu with sommelier-paired wines, by reservation. The Kitchen Table is an interactive culinary experience built around regional ingredients and cooking techniques — confirm whether it is included in your specific package at the time of booking.

Bars, lounges and entertainment

The social heart of the ship is The Living Room, where generous seating, live classical music from the Viking Resident Musicians and curated activities create a calm gathering space. Entry is free, with beverages charged separately unless covered by your package. The Clinker Bar, also in the Living Room atrium, evokes Nordic longship design and serves cocktails in a setting like no other.

Torshavn® channels the golden age of jazz with live music and premium spirits in an intimate atmosphere, while the Explorers' Lounge provides two-storey panoramic windows and a relaxed spot to watch the riverbanks roll past. The Atrium is an open central meeting point for a pre-dinner cocktail.

The Theater hosts lectures, films and TED Talks on a large screen and can be divided into two HD cinemas — all included in your fare. The Sports Deck offers a running track, boccie, mini golf and shuffleboard, with guided classes such as yoga charged separately.

Pools and wellness on Viking Haki

Viking Haki carries two pools: a heated main pool with a retractable roof for year-round swimming and evening film screenings, and an Infinity Pool — one of the first of its kind at sea on a river ship — with a hot tub, teak surround and floor-to-ceiling windows that make the destination feel immediately present. Both are included in your fare.

The Nordic Spa is open to all guests at no charge; individual treatments and classes carry a separate fee. The Fitness Centre has treadmills, elliptical machines, exercise bikes and open space for free weights, yoga and pilates, with equipment use complimentary. The Hair Salon is available for styling and the Royal Nordic Hair Ritual, with services charged separately.

Cabins on Viking Haki

All three cabin grades sleep two guests and are detailed on the Viking Haki cabins and deck plans page.

  • Standard Stateroom E (13.9 m²) — a river-view outside cabin with a half-height picture window giving direct views of the passing scenery without leaving the room.
  • Veranda Stateroom A (19.0 m²) — the defining step up from a standard stateroom, with a full private veranda and direct river access for breakfast outside or sunset drinks as the ship moves.
  • Explorer Suite ES (41.3 m²) — the most expansive private outdoor space on the ship, with a wraparound veranda offering 270-degree views.
