AmaNubia at a glance

AmaNubia is a purpose-built Nile river ship sailing for AmaWaterways, carrying up to 76 guests with a crew of 65 — a ratio that means attentive, personalised service throughout your voyage. At 71.9 metres in length, she is a compact and nimble ship ideally suited to the Nile, departing from Luxor, Egypt, and offering itineraries of up to seven nights. Her 38 cabins make every sailing feel genuinely intimate.

  • 38 cabins across two featured grades
  • Up to 7-night itineraries on the Nile River
  • Departs from Luxor, Egypt
  • Operated by AmaWaterways

Sailings currently on offer depart from late September 2026 onwards. Because every departure is in Egypt, your cruise is the centrepiece of a longer international trip — something CruiseAway's DreamAway Packages are built exactly for.

Dining on AmaNubia

AmaNubia offers two distinct dining venues, both included in your cruise fare and open to all guests.

The Main Restaurant is the culinary heart of the ship: open seating times, regional cuisine and river views create a relaxed atmosphere where conversation flows as freely as the Nile itself. For something more theatrical, The Chef's Table invites guests into an intimate setting where a dedicated chef crafts a multi-course tasting menu right before you — personalised attention, no extra charge. Both experiences are covered in your fare, making it easy to budget your holiday with confidence.

At any hour, the Specialty Coffee & Tea Station offers complimentary self-service hot drinks — ideal before a morning excursion or as an afternoon wind-down.

On-board spaces and activities

The Main Lounge is AmaNubia's social hub, where guests gather for cocktails, port talks and evening live entertainment. Drinks are charged separately unless covered by a beverage package, but the space itself is open to all.

Up on the Sun Deck, you'll find unobstructed views of the Nile — the perfect vantage point as ancient temples and riverside villages drift past. The Heated Sun-Deck Pool brings resort-style comfort to the river, complete with a swim-up bar so you can refresh without leaving the water. A Walking Track runs the same deck for guests who prefer to stay active in the open air.

Below deck, the Fitness Center provides modern cardio and strength-training equipment at no charge (specialist classes carry a separate fee). When it's time to unwind, the Massage & Hair Salon offers treatments and hairdressing — access is free; individual services are charged. The Library provides a quiet retreat with books and games, and the Gift Shop stocks souvenirs, regional keepsakes and everyday essentials.

One of AmaNubia's most practical on-board touches is her Complimentary Bicycle Fleet. Guests can borrow a bike at no charge and explore ports independently — no guided tour required, just the freedom to discover Egypt's riverside communities at your own pace.

Cabins on AmaNubia

AmaNubia's 38 cabins span two highlighted grades; full layouts and deck plans are on the AmaNubia cabins and deck plans page.

The Owner's Suite (OS) is the most generous space on board at 48.8 m², sleeping up to four guests. It comes with the ship's most expansive outdoor entertaining area — ideal for families or couples who want to spread out in style.

The Atrium Balcony Cabin (AA) offers 22.3 m² and sleeps up to four, with both a French drop-down window and a separate outdoor seating area — two ways to enjoy the passing Nile scenery without leaving the privacy of your own cabin.

Where AmaNubia sails

AmaNubia sails the Nile River, departing from Luxor in Upper Egypt — the gateway to the Valley of the Kings, Karnak Temple and some of the most concentrated ancient heritage anywhere on earth. Itineraries run up to seven nights, taking in the riverside sites that define Egypt's identity. All current departures leave from Luxor, so your journey begins and ends in the heart of antiquity.

Because Luxor is an international destination, every AmaNubia sailing requires a flight from Australia. That makes it the kind of trip where having everything arranged as one booking — flights, accommodation either side and airport transfers — saves significant time and stress. CruiseAway's DreamAway Packages do exactly that, wrapping flights, hotels and transfers around your cruise into a single holiday.

Why book AmaNubia with CruiseAway

CruiseAway's cruise experts know these ships and fares in depth — they can walk you through the difference between cabin grades, explain what's included in each fare and help you decide whether a beverage package makes sense for your group. There's no guesswork, and no navigating multiple suppliers.

Every AmaNubia sailing departs from Egypt, so a DreamAway Package is the natural way to book: one call, one booking, one price that covers your flights from Australia, hotel nights in Luxor before or after the cruise, and all your transfers. And whatever you choose, it's protected by our Best Price Guarantee.

Current fares start from A$8,814pp* for departures from late September 2026.

Common questions about AmaNubia

How many guests sail on AmaNubia at any one time?

AmaNubia carries a maximum of 76 guests, served by a crew of 65. That near one-to-one ratio is one of the defining features of the experience — service is attentive and the atmosphere consistently relaxed, without the crowds of larger vessels.

Which cabin should I book on AmaNubia?

If space and the option to sleep four guests are the priority, the Owner's Suite at 48.8 m² is the most generous option on board and includes the largest outdoor entertaining area on the ship. If you want private outdoor access at a smaller footprint, the Atrium Balcony Cabin at 22.3 m² offers both a French drop-down window and a separate seating area — two distinct ways to take in the Nile. The cabins and deck plans page shows full layouts to help you decide.

Do I need to book flights separately?

All AmaNubia sailings depart from Luxor, Egypt, so Australian travellers will need international flights. CruiseAway's DreamAway Packages combine your flights, pre- or post-cruise hotel and transfers with the cruise itself into a single booking — meaning one payment, one point of contact and no gaps between arrangements.

What is included in the cruise fare?

Your fare covers all dining in the Main Restaurant and The Chef's Table, complimentary specialty coffees and teas, access to the Sun Deck, heated pool, walking track, fitness centre, library and the complimentary bicycle fleet. The Main Lounge is open to all guests; drinks there are charged separately unless you have a beverage package. Spa treatments and hairdressing carry their own charges.

Are there other AmaWaterways ships I can consider?

AmaWaterways operates a number of river ships, and CruiseAway lists several of them. You may also want to look at AmaBella, AmaCello, AmaVida, AmaReina and AmaVerde — all ships in the same fleet, each sailing its own itineraries, and each available to explore on CruiseAway.
