AmaMora at a glance

AmaMora is an AmaWaterways river ship launched in 2019, built to carry up to 156 guests along the Danube with a crew of 30. At 135 metres in length, she is purpose-built for European inland waterways, threading through historic city hearts and riverside villages that ocean ships cannot reach. Her 78 cabins range from outside-window staterooms to a full-terrace suite, and her on-board facilities — from a heated sun-deck pool with swim-up bar to complimentary bicycles for port exploration — are included in the cruise fare. All current sailings on CruiseAway depart from Budapest, Hungary, Nuremberg, Germany, Vilshofen, Germany, or Amsterdam, Netherlands, sailing the Danube River on itineraries of up to 14 nights.

Dining on AmaMora

AmaMora offers two distinct dining venues, both included in your cruise fare and open to all guests.

The Main Restaurant is the culinary heart of the ship — an elegant, open-seating space serving regional cuisine with river views. Open seating means you dine when it suits you and sit where the conversation takes you, making it easy to meet fellow travellers over a shared appreciation of the local food culture you're sailing through.

For something more intimate, The Chef's Table offers a dedicated chef's multi-course tasting menu prepared right before you. It is culinary theatre in a small-group setting, with personalised attention throughout — and like the Main Restaurant, it carries no extra charge. Both venues are the kind of inclusion that makes a river cruise fare feel genuinely all-encompassing.

Throughout the day, the Specialty Coffee & Tea Station provides complimentary self-service coffees and teas — a small but well-considered touch for early risers and afternoon browsers alike.

On-board life: bars, relaxation and activity

The Main Lounge is where guests naturally gather: a fully stocked bar, evening live entertainment and informative port talks all take place here. Entry is included; individual drinks and food are charged separately unless you are on a beverage package.

On the upper deck, the Sun Deck gives you unobstructed river panoramas from an open-air space ideal for watching the Danube countryside unfold. The Heated Sun-Deck Pool sits up here too, with an integrated swim-up bar — a rare feature on a river ship and one that brings a resort feel to inland sailing. Both are included in the fare.

Staying active is straightforward: the Walking Track on the Sun Deck lets you jog or walk in fresh air, while the Fitness Center has modern cardio and strength equipment available at no charge (specialist fitness classes carry a separate fee). Ashore, the Complimentary Bicycle Fleet is one of AmaMora's most distinctive features — guests can borrow a bike and explore ports independently, at their own pace, without booking a guided tour or paying extra.

Wind down in the Massage & Hair Salon — the space itself is free to enter, though treatments and hairdressing services carry a charge — or find a quiet hour in the Library, which stocks books and games and is open to all at no cost. The on-board Gift Shop rounds out the facilities with souvenirs and essentials.

Cabins and suites on AmaMora

AmaMora's 78 cabins divide into three principal grades — full details and deck plans are on the AmaMora cabins and deck plans page.

  • Outside Cabin D (14.9 m²) — an outside-window cabin for two. Natural light and river scenery come in through a fixed window; outdoor time is easily taken on the shared Sun Deck above.
  • Balcony Cabin AA (21.8 m²) — a suite-category cabin sleeping up to four guests, with a dual-balcony layout: both a drop-down French window and a full outside terrace give two separate ways to take in the river, something the entry-level grades don't offer.
  • Suite SS (32.5 m²) — the most spacious cabin on the ship, a balcony suite for two that delivers considerably more living room than any other grade on board. If comfort and space are a priority, this is where to look first.

Where AmaMora sails

All sailings currently available through CruiseAway take AmaMora along the Danube River in Europe, with departures from Budapest, Nuremberg, Vilshofen and Amsterdam. The Danube corridor passes through some of Central Europe's most storied cities and towns — a river itinerary that delivers a genuinely different perspective from an airport transfer and a hotel room.

All departures are in Europe, which means flying from Australia is part of every journey. CruiseAway treats the cruise as the centrepiece of a longer trip: our cruise experts can book your flights, hotels on either side and transfers as a single DreamAway Package, so nothing is left to chance between home and the gangway.

Why book AmaMora with CruiseAway?

CruiseAway's Best Price Guarantee covers every AmaMora sailing we list — if the price moves, we want you to have the lowest one available. Our cruise experts know AmaWaterways' cabin grades and fare structures in detail, which matters on a ship where the difference between an Outside Cabin and a Suite SS is meaningful and the right choice depends on your priorities. They can also advise on beverage packages and the inclusions that vary by fare type.

Because every AmaMora sailing involves international flights, we offer DreamAway Packages — cruise plus flights, hotels and transfers built by us into a single booking, in Australian dollars, with one point of contact if anything needs changing. You can explore the full range of AmaWaterways cruises on our site if you want to compare itineraries across the fleet before committing to a departure.

Common questions about AmaMora

What is included in an AmaMora cruise fare?

The Main Restaurant and The Chef's Table are both included, as are the Specialty Coffee & Tea Station, Sun Deck access, the Heated Sun-Deck Pool, the Walking Track, the Fitness Center, the Library and the Complimentary Bicycle Fleet. The Main Lounge itself is free to enter; drinks ordered there are charged separately unless a beverage package is part of your fare. Massage and hair salon treatments carry their own charges.

Which cabin grade should I book on AmaMora?

That depends on how much time you plan to spend in the cabin versus on deck. If the Sun Deck and shared spaces suit you, the Outside Cabin D is a practical choice. If you want private river access from your own cabin, the Balcony Cabin AA's dual-balcony layout — French window plus full terrace — is a meaningful upgrade, and it can sleep up to four guests. The Suite SS at 32.5 m² is the best choice if space and comfort are the priority. Our cruise experts can walk you through the trade-offs for a specific itinerary.

How long are the Danube itineraries on AmaMora?

Sailings available through CruiseAway run up to 14 nights on the Danube River. Departure ports include Budapest, Vilshofen, Nuremberg and Amsterdam, so the shape and direction of the itinerary varies — some sail east-to-west, others west-to-east. Check individual sailings for the precise routing.

Do I need to arrange flights separately?

All AmaMora sailings depart from Europe — Hungary, Germany or the Netherlands — so flying from Australia is part of every trip. CruiseAway can package the flights, any hotel nights at either end and your transfers together with the cruise fare as a DreamAway Package, keeping everything in one place and one currency.

Are there other AmaWaterways ships I can compare?

Yes. CruiseAway also lists sailings on other ships in the AmaWaterways fleet that you may be weighing up: AmaBella, AmaCello, AmaVida, AmaReina and AmaVerde are all ships in the same fleet with their own pages on CruiseAway.
