AmaRudi is a 2025-built river cruise ship operated by AmaWaterways, purpose-built for the Danube and carrying up to 196 guests in 98 cabins, served by a crew of 70. At 135 metres, she was designed from the outset for the rivers of Central Europe, and her sailings currently available through CruiseAway depart from Budapest, Hungary and Vilshofen, Germany, running up to 14 nights.
The Main Restaurant is the culinary heart of the ship — open seating, regional cuisine, river views, and all included in your fare. It is the kind of relaxed, informal space that encourages guests to linger and talk.
For something more theatrical, The Chef's Table offers a dedicated chef preparing a multi-course tasting menu in an intimate setting, with personalised attention throughout — and no extra charge. Both dining venues are open to all guests and covered by your cruise fare, so there are no awkward bill moments to navigate.
Away from mealtimes, the Specialty Coffee & Tea Station is a complimentary self-service fixture, ready whenever you want a morning espresso or a quiet afternoon cup.
The Main Lounge is where the ship comes together each evening — a fully stocked bar, port talks from the onboard team, and live entertainment. Entry is included; drinks and food are charged separately unless you hold a beverage package. It doubles as an information hub by day, a natural gathering point before and after excursions.
The Sun Deck runs the length of the upper deck with unobstructed views in every direction — ideal for watching the Danube scenery pass, dining in the open air, or simply doing nothing at all. Alongside it sits a Heated Sun-Deck Pool with an integrated swim-up bar, so you can order a drink without climbing out. A Walking Track circles the same deck for joggers and walkers who want fresh air with their morning exercise.
Below decks, the Fitness Centre carries modern cardio and strength-training equipment, complimentary to use; specialist fitness classes carry a separate charge. And for exploring ashore independently, AmaRudi carries a Complimentary Bicycle Fleet — guests can borrow a bike at any port and head off at their own pace without booking a guided tour.
The Massage & Hair Salon is on board for anyone who wants a treatment or a blow-dry mid-voyage; the space itself is free to enter and treatments are charged individually. The Library offers a quieter alternative — books, games and a comfortable seat away from the deck activity, included in your fare.
A Gift Shop rounds out the on-board amenities, stocking essentials, souvenirs and regional keepsakes.
AmaRudi carries three published cabin grades, and the full deck plans and cabin details are worth a look before you book. In brief:
Our cruise experts can walk you through which grade and fare inclusions suit your travel style — call us or use the booking tools to compare options side by side.
All nine current sailings available through CruiseAway follow the Danube River through Central Europe. Six depart from Budapest, Hungary and three from Vilshofen, Germany, with itineraries of up to 14 nights departing from September 2026. Prices start from A$4,508pp*.
Because every departure requires flying to Hungary or Germany, CruiseAway treats the cruise as the centrepiece of a longer trip. Through our DreamAway Packages, we can combine flights, pre- or post-cruise hotel nights and airport transfers into a single booking — one payment, one point of contact.
CruiseAway's Best Price Guarantee applies site-wide, so you can browse with confidence. Our cruise experts specialise in river cruising and know AmaWaterways' itineraries and inclusions in detail — they can help you choose between a late-season Danube departure and a longer voyage, and make sure the cabin grade you pick matches how you actually want to spend your time on board. And because every AmaRudi sailing requires international travel, our DreamAway Packages exist precisely for trips like this: the flights, hotel and transfers handled alongside the cruise, all on one booking.
AmaRudi was built in 2025, making her one of the newest ships in the AmaWaterways fleet currently available to book through CruiseAway.
AmaRudi accommodates up to 196 guests across 98 cabins, with a crew of 70 — a ratio that supports the attentive, personalised service river cruising is known for.
The Main Restaurant, The Chef's Table, the Specialty Coffee & Tea Station, the Sun Deck, the Heated Sun-Deck Pool, the Walking Track, the Fitness Centre, the Library and the Complimentary Bicycle Fleet are all covered by your cruise fare. The Owner's Suite OS is the largest cabin on board at 66 m², more than twice the floor space of standard balcony grades. Full details of every grade and deck layout are on the AmaRudi cabins and deck plans page.
