AmaCleo is a purpose-built Nile river ship, scheduled to launch in 2027 under the AmaWaterways flag. She carries just 82 guests, looked after by a crew of 65 — a ratio that makes attentive, personal service a practical reality rather than a marketing line. She measures 71.9 metres in length, and her 41 cabins are spread across a layout designed to keep the atmosphere intimate throughout. Sailings depart from Luxor, Egypt, and run up to seven nights along the Nile River.
AmaCleo offers two distinct dining venues, both included in the cruise fare and open to every guest.
The Main Restaurant is the culinary heart of the ship. It operates on open seating — sit when you like, with whom you like — and the menu leans into regional cuisine served with river views on one side and easy, informal conversation on the other.
For something more theatrical, The Chef's Table seats guests around a dedicated chef who crafts a multi-course tasting menu in full view. It is an intimate, personalised experience, and like the Main Restaurant it carries no extra charge. Complimentary specialty coffees and teas are available throughout the day from the self-service Specialty Coffee & Tea Station.
The Main Lounge is where the ship's social life gathers after each day ashore. The fully stocked bar is the centrepiece, flanked by a programme of informative talks about the ports of call and live entertainment in the evenings. The lounge itself is included in the fare; drinks carry a separate charge unless you are travelling on a beverage package.
The Heated Sun-Deck Pool sits on the upper deck and comes with an integrated swim-up bar — a genuine resort touch on a river ship. Alongside it, the open Sun Deck offers unobstructed views of the passing Nile landscape and occasional al-fresco dining. For those who want to stay active, the Walking Track circles the Sun Deck and the Fitness Centre below is equipped with modern cardio and strength-training machines — both complimentary, with specialist fitness classes charged separately.
The Massage & Hair Salon is available to all guests; access is free, though treatments and hairdressing services carry individual charges. Rounding out the onboard amenities are a Library stocked with books and games, a Gift Shop for souvenirs and essentials, and a Complimentary Bicycle Fleet that lets you explore each port at your own pace without booking a guided tour.
AmaCleo's 41 cabins span three grades, and full layouts are on the AmaCleo cabins and deck plans page.
All current sailings depart from Luxor, Egypt, on voyages of up to seven nights along the Nile River. CruiseAway currently lists two sailings on AmaCleo, with departures from September 2026 onwards, starting from A$8,846pp*. Because Luxor requires a flight from Australia, every AmaCleo holiday is one where our DreamAway Packages earn their keep — we combine the cruise with international flights, hotels either side and all transfers into a single booking, so you arrive at the ship having handled nothing piecemeal.
Our Best Price Guarantee means you book knowing you are not paying more than you should. Our cruise experts know AmaWaterways' Nile product specifically — the cabin grades, the included excursions and the fare options — so when you have questions about whether a Balcony Cabin or an Owner's Suite suits your trip, you are talking to someone with a genuine answer. And because every AmaCleo sailing touches Egypt, we handle the full journey: the cruise, the flights, the hotels and the transfers, on one booking, through our DreamAway Packages.
AmaCleo is scheduled to launch in 2027. She is a new build, which means guests booking current sailings will be among the first to sail her.
AmaCleo accommodates 82 guests across 41 cabins, with 65 crew on board. That crew-to-guest ratio is one of the defining features of the experience — service is attentive and the atmosphere is genuinely intimate.
If space and a private balcony are the priority, the Owner's Suite at 48.5 m² is the most generous option on the ship. Guests who want a river connection without the suite premium will find the Balcony Cabin's drop-down window-wall a compelling alternative, while the Outside Cabin suits those who prefer natural light and views at a more accessible grade. Our cruise experts can walk you through the differences for specific sailings.
The complimentary bicycle fleet lets you explore each port independently at no charge. The Main Restaurant, The Chef's Table, the Specialty Coffee & Tea Station, the pool, the fitness centre and the walking track are all included in the cruise fare. Spa treatments, hairdressing, specialist fitness classes and drinks (outside any beverage package) carry separate charges.
You do not have to. Every AmaCleo sailing departs from Luxor, Egypt, which means an international flight from Australia is part of every trip. CruiseAway can arrange flights, airport transfers and any hotel nights you need before or after the cruise as part of a DreamAway Package — everything confirmed on a single booking.
If you are weighing up other vessels in the AmaWaterways fleet, CruiseAway also lists sailings on AmaBella, AmaCello, AmaVida, AmaReina and AmaVerde — each a different ship in the same fleet, worth comparing if your dates or destination is flexible.

Come aboard the AmaCleo and discover one of 6 cabin categories on a total of 5 decks that can accommodate 82 passengers. Choose your dream cabin and feel at home on board the AmaCleo!
