Dreaming of warm water, long-tail boats and sunset cocktails without spending weeks planning every detail?

Thailand Cruise
Thailand is a vibrant paradise that beckons cruisers with its stunning blend of culture, beaches, and cuisine. Opting for a cruise holiday means you can easily hop between its mesmerizing harbours. The dry season, from November to February, is particularly popular, thanks to the favourable weather. Ko Samui offers pristine beaches and a lively nightlife, while Phuket entices with its turquoise waters and local markets. In Bangkok, visit the Grand Palace and sample delicious street food just moments from your ship.

Travel Tips for Thailand

Thailand cruises wrap island hopping, city nights and lazy sea days into one easy holiday, with options for all inclusive style packages, sharp earlybird offers and even last minute deals for a fast escape to the tropics.

Thailand By Sea

Thailand cruises give you a simple way to see more than a single beach or resort town. Your ship acts as a floating hotel while you move between postcard islands, bustling cities and tucked away bays, waking up somewhere new most mornings without ever repacking your suitcase.

Typical itineraries include well known favourites like Phuket and Koh Samui, along with stops that mix temples, markets and street food with time on the sand. Many sailings link Thailand with nearby regions such as Malaysia, Singapore or Vietnam, so one trip can feel like several holidays in one. You can choose shorter tropical getaways or longer journeys that form part of a wider South East Asia adventure.

Why Thailand Cruises Appeal To Aussie Travellers

For Australians, cruising through Thailand offers a relaxed and good value way to enjoy the country’s beaches and culture without the usual logistics puzzle. Some of the key benefits include:

  • Unpack once – your cabin stays the same while you move between islands, cities and coastal towns.
  • Strong value – your accommodation, main meals and much of the entertainment are wrapped into a single fare.
  • Mix of beach and culture – pair palm fringed bays and snorkelling days with temples, night markets and local food tours.
  • Flexible cruise lengths – choose a short tropical break or a longer itinerary that includes more of South East Asia.
  • Simple planning – one booking covers multiple destinations, ideal if you prefer a relaxed, organised holiday.

When you plan with CruiseAway you can compare ships, routes and travel dates in one place, then book a cruise that fits your budget and your idea of the perfect Thailand escape.

  • Bangkok and nearby ports – city stops that combine temples, river cruises and shopping with a taste of local street food.

Thailand Cruises FAQs

When is the best time for Thailand cruises?
Many travellers look at the cooler, drier months between roughly November and April for more settled conditions, although weather varies between the Andaman Sea side and the Gulf of Thailand. Shoulder periods can give a good balance of value, sunshine and lighter crowds.

How long should I plan for?
Seven to ten nights works well if you want a mix of islands, sea days and time in port. Longer itineraries are ideal if you are combining Thailand with other parts of Asia and prefer a slower pace with more room to unwind on board.

Are Thailand cruises suitable for families?
Yes. Many ships offer kids clubs, family cabins and casual dining options, along with shore excursions that range from gentle beach days to more active adventures like kayaking, snorkelling or island touring, so everyone can find their pace.

Do I need previous cruise experience?
Not at all. Thailand cruises are a good choice for first time cruisers thanks to warm weather, welcoming ports and plenty of support from crew on board. The cruise specialists at CruiseAway can help you choose the ship, cabin and itinerary that match how you like to travel.

Can I combine Thailand with other destinations?
Yes. Many itineraries link Thailand with nearby countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam or Cambodia, creating a wider regional journey. Working with CruiseAway makes it easier to match flights, pre or post cruise hotel stays and your chosen Thailand cruises into one smooth itinerary.

Service at the dining room. Had to wait for waiters and food for a long periods of time. Not the best way to cut costs 😉
