The Noordam is the youngest ship of the Holland America Line cruise company and was named after the northern sky. In 2006, the ship went on a voyage for the first time and has been a welcome into ports all around the world since then. On a length of 293 meters and a total of 11 decks almost the Noordam 1924 passengers as well as 800 crew members. This Holland America Line ship has been equipped with the latest environmental technology, and thanks to the maneuverability, the narrowest harbors are no problem. Regarding the artistic design, the Holland America Line cruise company remains faithful to its motto and the exclusive design of the individual rooms of the Noordam was not left to chance. On board are several paintings such as oil paintings, but also contemporary art, such as the photographs of the musician Dizzy Gillespie. The most valuable piece of art on the Noordam is a 17th-century chest of drawers, made of ivory and covered with precious stones.
