The Panama Canal connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans together. Easter Island is a small island located at the centre of the Pacific Ocean. Easter Island is classed as the most remote populated island in the world due to it's location. The island is especially known for the mystical Moai statues, which can be found there and are a definite must-see! Researchers estimate that there were about 1,000 of these statues originally. Easter Island is also home to an extensive National Park. Rano Raraku volcano is located in the National Park and was the quarry which provided the stone for the Moai statues.

Pitcairn is the main island of the Pitcairn Islands. The present inhabitants are for the most part descendants of the famous mutiny on the Bounty, where some of the crewship overthrew their Lieutenant and then sailed on the HMS Bounty ship to the Picairn Islands. Nouméa is the capital of the French overseas territory New Caledonia and most rapidly growing city in the South Pacific.
