The 1,500-square-foot island was discovered in 1606 by the Portuguese navigator Pedro Fernández de Quirós. It is the southernmost island of the island nation of Vanuatu. The official name of the island is actually Inyeug, but to all the budding adventurers it's known as Mystery Island. The Mystery Island's coastline is dominated by crystal clear waters and white sand beaches.
