Barcelona as a Destination

Barcelona is the dynamic capital city of Catalonia in Spain. The city boasts a rich culture with many idiosyncrasies and eccentricities found nowhere else in the world. Due to its prime location on the Mediterranean Sea the inhabitants and tourists alike enjoy a sunny and active lifestyle.

Those who arrive in Barcelona as part of a cruise itinerary may want to take advantage of the hop on hop off tourist bus to get a good overview of Barcelona’s main attractions. These handy busses have several stops near the cruise terminals which are ideal for passengers on a shore excursion as they won’t have to waste any of their precious time in this vivacious city. Passengers won’t be disappointed as they will get to see a large proportion of the city quickly and comprehensively.

This vibrant port is not just a hub for maritime vessels but also a focal point for curious tourists as it houses the famed Maremagmun which comprises of a modern shopping mall and diverse nightlife complex. The Maremagnum also boasts a multiplex cinema and Europe’s biggest aquarium which showcases the most diverse and fascinating marine life. Additionally, due to its location, the Maremagnum is the only mall of its kind in the city that can stay open Sundays and public holidays, which could make a huge difference to cruisers only visiting for the day.
Located nearby are the “Golondrines” which are quaint ships to ferry tourists around the port vicinity for those itching to get back on a ship.
